Stubbs pre-school receives gift from Matthias Charities Inc
THE ST MATTHIAS CHARITIES Inc has made a donation of educational supplies, hygiene products, and learning materials to the Stubbs Village pre-school.
The donation was officially handed over to Principal Marsha John, and included supplies for the Graduating Class of 2026, as well as educational and play-based learning resources designed to support students’ development at home through interactive activities that enhance hand-eye coordination and motor skills, the Charities said in a release.
Head of St. Matthias Charities Inc., Pastor Curtis “Mac” McBarnette, said the organization was moved to make an additional contribution after viewing an API feature that highlighted the positive impact of Onika Castello, a staff member with Down syndrome at the preschool.
Pastor McBarnette explained that the story resonated deeply with both him and his wife, Sharon who is from the community of Stubbs. He noted that while the organization has already adopted the preschool and provides ongoing assistance, seeing Onika’s dedication and influence inspired them
to further strengthen their support.
“Onika’s commitment to the children and her positive presence within the school community demonstrate the importance of inclusion and the meaningful contributions individuals can make when given the opportunity,” Pastor McBarnette is quoted to have said.
Principal John expressed appreciation for the donation, noting that the supplies will support both students and parents while helping to extend learning opportunities beyond the classroom environment.
The donation forms part of St. Matthias Charities Inc.’s ongoing commitment to advancing education, child development, and community empowerment throughout St.Vincent and the Grenadines.( API)
