Netball AGM to be held via Zoom this year
The annual general meeting of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association (SVGNA), is scheduled to be held virtually on the zoom platform on Monday, June 22, 2026 starting at 8:00 p.m., with voting rights restricted to clubs/teams that are in good financial standing for 2025. Each participating club is entitled to two delegates.
Following prayers and the roll call, the agenda will move to the business session that includes addressing the minutes of the 2025 AGM; correspondence; reports from the president; the executive; as well as the financial report. The umpires/technical report will also be tabled at the June 22 meeting.
In her report, treasurer Jacintha Ballantyne, has said that: “The SVG Netball Association (the Association) had a good productive year in 2025 both from operational and financial perspectives. The Association is in a relatively stable financial position but dependent on sponsorship support, donations and contributions. We are grateful for the support provided by the National Lottery and the commitment of the Bank of SVG as well as support received this year from the SVG Olympic Committee. Without their support, we would struggle to keep the sport going”.
The auditors have also given a clean bill of health to the organisation. “Based on our review, nothing has come to our attention that causes us to believe that these financial statements do not present fairly, in all material aspects, the financial position of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association as at November 30, 2025 and its financial performance, and its cash flows for the year then ended, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards,” BDO Eastern Caribbean states.
During the year under review, the Natasha Baptiste-Samuel led executive has further moved to strengthen the SVGNA’s governance structures, improve facilities, expand partnerships, increase youth participation, and build administrative and officiating capacity throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The executive committee has also ensured representation of SVG at the Caribbean Netball Association’s AGM, Americas Netball AGM and Council meetings, and the SVG Olympic Committee’s AGM and Council meetings.
