ULP statement of condolences on the passing of social activist, Renwick Rose
The Unity Labour Party joins the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the wider Caribbean, and progressive forces around the world in mourning the passing of veteran journalist, activist, trade unionist, and Pan-Africanist Renwick Rose.
Renwick Rose dedicated his life to advancing social justice, empowering working people, promoting regional integration, and struggling against colonialism, racism, and inequality. Through his distinguished work in journalism, public advocacy, and political activism, he became one of the most respected voices in the Caribbean, consistently championing the causes of the marginalised and the oppressed.
As noted by our Political Leader, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, Renwick was a selfless servant of the people whose life was marked by unwavering commitment to justice, democracy, and human dignity. His contributions to national development and Caribbean civilisation leave an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire future generations.
On behalf of the Unity Labour Party, we extend our sincerest condolences to his wife, Ancelma, his siblings, his children, grandchildren, relatives, friends, comrades, and all those whose lives were touched by his wisdom, compassion, and activism.
While his voice has been stilled, his ideas, principles, and lifelong struggle for a better society will remain alive in the hearts and minds of a grateful people.
May Renwick Rose rest in eternal peace.
