High Commissioner of India to SVG hands over Edinboro Hard court

The High Commissioner of India to St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), Subhash Prasad Gupta, officially handed over the Edinboro hard court to the Government and People of St Vincent and the Grenadines during a ceremony on Monday, June 1, 2026, in Edinboro.

The hard court is one of five community-based projects implemented under the Quick Impact Project Agreement between the Government of the Republic of India and the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines, a release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states.

Among those in attendance were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs Dwight Fitzgerald Bramble, the High Commissioner of India to St Vincent and the Grenadines; Subhash Prasad Gupta, the Parliamentary Representative for West Kingstown; Daniel Cummings; the Minister of Youth, Sports, Culture and Creative Industries; Kaschaka Cupid, the Coordinator of Sports Roxell John; senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and representatives of the Buildings Roads and General Services Authority (BRAGSA).

Minister Cupid expressed appreciation to the Government of the Republic of India for its continued partnership and support, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to further enhance the facility through the installation of solar-powered lighting. He also assured that the hard court would be properly maintained for the benefit of the community.

Parliamentary representative Cummings highlighted the positive impact the facility is expected to have on the lives of young people in the community. He also commended BRAGSA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for its oversight of the project and underscored the importance of community stewardship in
maintaining and enhancing the surrounding environment.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has extended sincere gratitude to the Government of the Republic of India for its support through the Quick Impact Projects initiative. The ministry has also thanked all stakeholders whose contributions helped bring the project to fruition and reaffirms the commitment of St Vincent and the Grenadines to further strengthening the longstanding bilateral relationship between the two nations.
