St Martin’s Secondary wins award in Regional Schools Investment Competition
THE St Martin’s Secondary School was among secondary schools across the region to win an award at the annual Regional Secondary Schools Investment Competition organised by the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange (ECSE).
The SMSS Prosperity Pioneers was awarded for their “well-presented Strategic Approach”, a release from the ECSE states.
The regional champion Choiseul Secondary School, along with other top performers were recognized at the Awards Ceremony of the 3rd Annual Regional Schools Investment Competition on March 26, 2026 in Saint Lucia. The ceremony was also streamed virtually, enabling the other top performers in Grenada and St.Vincent and the Grenadines to be recognized for their performance and to enable students and the public across the region to view the event.
Students were evaluated on their portfolio value at the end of the competition, and their video submissions which captured their strategic approach and lessons learned during the competition.
The winners, recognized during the ceremony, were: 1. Regional Champion: Alite Investors of Choiseul Secondary School, Saint Lucia 2. Runner Up: Boys on the Hill Investment of the Grenada Boys Secondary School, Grenada 3. Most Creative Video Submission: Nurnal Invests of Vieux-Fort Comprehensive Secondary School, Saint Lucia. 4. Most well-presented Strategic Approach: SMSS Prosperity Pioneers of St. Martin’s Secondary School, St.Vincent and the Grenadines.
Students from the Choiseul Secondary School received the Sir K Dwight Venner Champion Trophy, the champion plaque, and a cheque for EC$6,500.00 on behalf of their school. Students also received gold medals, certificates of achievement, and an investment gift voucher valued at EC$540.00 each, and branded backpacks with gift items from the
partner organizations. Teachers received certificates of achievement, a gift certificate waiving broker fees on their first investment, a branded tote bag with gift items from the partner organizations, as well as a special award from the Eastern Caribbean Securities Regulatory Commission honouring their dedication to the students’ development.
Grenada Boys Secondary School, as runner up received a plaque, a cheque for EC$3,000.00. Students received silver medals, certificates of achievement and an investment gift voucher valued at EC$270.00 each, and branded back packs with gifts from the partner organizations. Teachers received certificates of achievement, a gift certificate waiving broker fees on their first investment, a branded tote bag with gift items from partner organizations. Video Awardees received certificates of participation and a cheque each for EC$250.00.
ECSE has congratulated the Regional Schools Investment Champion, Choiseul Secondary School and runner-up, the Grenada Boys Secondary School as well as the video awardees. It has also expressed appreciation to all the schools that participated in the third Annual Regional Schools Investment Competition which was held from October to November 2025.This educational and developmental initiative, spearheaded by the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange (ECSE) and organised in collaboration with its licensed member broker-dealers and the Eastern Caribbean Securities Regulatory Commission, provided students with valuable exposure to the fundamentals of investing and first hand experience of securities market activity, the ECSE outlined.
