Cuban Ambassador holds working meeting with SVG’s Housing minister
THE AMBASSADOR of the Republic of Cuba to St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, held what has been described as a productive working meeting with the Minister of Housing, Land Management, Urban Development and Informal Settlement, Andrew John during which both parties discussed the potential for bilateral cooperation in areas related to sustainable urban development, territorial planning, and efficient land management.
A release issued through the Embassy indicates that the April 7, 2026 dialogue made it possible to identify opportunities for strengthening technical capacities, as well as for the exchange of experiences and best practices in housing policies.
The Cuban Ambassador reiterated his country’s willingness to continue supporting initiatives that contribute to the social and urban development of St Vincent and the Grenadines, in line with the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between both nations.
Minister John positively assessed the possibilities for collaboration with Cuba, highlighting the
importance of advancing projects that have a direct impact on the quality of life of communities, particularly in the upgrading of informal settlements and access to adequate housing.
Both parties agreed on the importance of maintaining a fluid dialogue and following up on the issues discussed, with a view to implementing cooperation actions for mutual benefit (Embassy of Cuba in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. (Cubaminrex)
