Youlou Arts Centre resumes children and adult classes
The Youlou Art Centre says it will begin this term’s series of art classes for children and adults on Saturday, September 17. The Centre will resume the “Hello Art”, Saturday morning art class for children between ages 5-12 at its centre at Indian Bay.
A release from the Centre states that classes will run from 10:00 a.m to noon; and adult classes will begin on Saturday, September 24 from 1:00 p.m to 3:00 p.m.
The Youlou Arts Foundation in its release says it is focused on offering art education to the public. And, with its mission being to nurture and encourage the arts in St. Vincent and the Grenadines offering art classes is one way of fulfilling this mission.
“Youlou Arts Foundation seeks to inspire and to encourage Vincies to express themselves, and be creative.
It is a known fact that the arts are vital. It is the driving force which keeps us all sane and human,” the Centre’s release points out.
“Making art is one way of proclaiming ‘I am alive, and my life has meaning’, i other words, making art enriches your life.You learn to make decisions.You get your creative juices flowing, all good for your body and soul. Added to that, making art is a joyful and practical way of learning”.
