Changes made to risk level of unvaccinated arrivals to SVG
Press Release
April 11, 2022

Changes made to risk level of unvaccinated arrivals to SVG

The most recent protocol for unvaccinated travelers to St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) indicates that there are now only two risk levels based on the traveler’s country of residence.

According to the new protocol, effective April 9, 2022, countries are now classified as either High/Medium or Low in terms of the Risk of travelers arriving from those countries introducing new COVID-19 cases to SVG.

The Risk level of countries is based on their incidence rate (according to CARPHA COVID-19 Situation Report #223 of April 4, 2022). Countries with an incidence rate of 20 or fewer were categorized as Low Risk. Countries with an incidence rate of greater than 20 were categorized as High/Medium Risk.

The country of residence will be the last country that the traveler was present in for at least 21 days.

Low-Risk countries are: Antigua and Barbuda, Bonaire, Jamaica, Guyana, Belize, Bahamas, St. Kitts Nevis, St. Lucia, Taiwan, Suriname and Montserrat.

Unvaccinated arrivals from Low-Risk countries:

  • Must arrive with a negative result of a COVID-19 (RT-PCR) test done no more than 72 hours before arrival.
  • Must be tested for COVID-19 RT-PCR on arrival in SVG at the discretion of the Port Health Officer.
  • Must quarantine for three (3) days in a Tourism Authority/MOHWE approved Transition/Quarantine Hotel at their cost.

High/Medium-Risk countries are: Anguilla, Aruba, Venezuela, Brazil, Ecuador, South Africa, Colombia, Mexico, India, Panama, Argentina, Peru, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, United States of America, including the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), China, United Kingdom, Germany, Dominican

Republic, Haiti, Cuba, Nigeria, Indonesia, Philippines, Italy, Cayman Islands, Curacao, St. Eustatius, Sint Maarten, Canada, Turks and Caicos Islands, France (including overseas regions), Spain and Russia.

Unvaccinated arrivals from High/Medium-Risk countries:

  • Must arrive with a negative result of a COVID-19 (RT-PCR) test done no more than seventy-two (72) hours or three (3) days before arrival.
  • May be retested for COVID-19 on arrival in SVG.
  • MUST Mandatory quarantine for seven (7) days in a Tourism Authority/MOHWE approved Transition/Quarantine Hotel at their cost.
  • Must be retested on day five (5) of quarantine.

Any other country not assigned to the above categories should be assumed to be high risk.

High risk occupations include:

  1. Health Care Workers (current)
  2. Prison/Detention Facility Workers.

In-transit unvaccinated Passengers through SVG:

  1. Must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result done within 72 hours of arrival.
  2. If the in-transit period does not include an over-night stay, that period must be spent at the Argyle International Airport.
