Press Release

Regional counterparts make donations to RSVGPF

The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, (RSVGPF) has received financial contributions from the members of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda (RPFAB), and the Royal St. Kitts and Nevis Police Force (RSKNPF).

On Monday May 31, 2021 at a brief ceremony, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in the RPFAB, Desmond Dinard, handed over a cheque to Commissioner of Police, Colin John at his Office in Kingstown.

In making the donation ACP Dinard said that when the executive of the RPFAB became aware of the situation in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) after the eruption of La Soufriere Volcano, they met to discuss ways in which the RPFAB could assist the RSVGPF.

“So we decided to put it to the membership that we were going to raise some funds. The membership responded positively and as a result of that Commissioner John, it is my pleasure to present to you this cheque from the Commissioner of Police and the members of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda as a token of our support and continued solidarity,” ACP Dinard said.

In accepting the donation, Commissioner John thanked ACP Dinard on behalf of the members of the RSVGPF and the government and people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Commissioner John said: “It is really a good gesture on the part of the RPFAB. We know that it was a sacrifice that persons made in donating the funds.”

Commissioner John also thanked ACP Dinard for travelling to SVG as head of the Regional Security Services (RSS) contingent to assist SVG in the area of humanitarian exercises as the nation returns to a level of normalcy. According to Commissioner John “we need each other and we continue to support each other”.

Then on Wednesday June 2, 2021, Inspector James Stephens of the Royal St. Kitts and Nevis Police Force, and Staff Sergeant Marvin Payne of the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force, handed over a cheque and 600 facemasks to Commissioner John. Inspector Stephens extended greetings on behalf of Commissioner of Police, Hilroy Brandy and the members of the Royal St. Kitts and Nevis Police Force.

Commissioner John thanked Commissioner Brandy, the members of the RSKNPF, the St Kitts and Nevis Defense Force and the people of that nation for their generosity and solidarity in time of need.
