Rubis supports SJCK sports meet

The St Joseph’s Convent Kingstown’s (SJCK) annual sports meet received a boost from Rubis last week.

Rubis’s country representative Elroy Edwards journeyed to the Arnos Vale sporting complex on Friday February 21 where he handed over a monetary contribution to assist with the staging of the keenly contested annual sporting event.

While making the contribution, Edwards said the support marked the company’s continued and steadfast commitment to youth development in education and sports in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

“Rubis remains fully committed to supporting youth development through education and sports.  Our level of commitment is evident not only through our support of St Joseph’s Convent, but of other schools,” Edwards told students, teachers and principal Antoinette Bess- Jardine.

He added, “We believe programs such as these are essential and give secondary level athletes an opportunity to put their skills on show.

“Sports is also important to the overall development of our children from an early age and will only make them better, well rounded and disciplined individuals.”

In response, principal Bess-Jardine expressed her appreciation to Rubis for yet another contribution to the annual sports meet.

“Here at St Joseph’s Convent, Kingstown we pursue the holistic development of our students and sporting activities is one such channel. Rubis’s sponsorship not only assists us in covering the expenses involved in such an activity but sends a clarion message of the profound interest Rubis takes in our nation’s youths,” said Bess-Jardine.

She added that knowing Rubis is always willing to assist is deeply appreciated.

Rubis’s commitment to sports is also seen through its sponsorship of the Central Leeward Secondary School’s annual interhouse and inter secondary athletics meet.
