CIVIL SOCIETY PRESENTATION EVENT
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) in collaboration with the NTRC is hosting a Civil Society Presentation event on May 9, 2017. This event is the first of its kind in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The aim of the event is to increase the knowledge of how the internet is governed locally and globally and its impact and interrelationships across all sectors of the economy to its users and providers.
Presentations will be made by senior officials from the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), Internet Society (ISOC), The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC). The main sessions will focus on the summary and readout from ICANN 58 that took place in Copenhagen, Denmark in March 2017. Three public meetings are usually held for ICANN each year with the aim of setting policy on the public governance of the global internet. As such, Caribbean participation is vital in the multi stakeholder governance process and we are hereby extending an invitation to the public to attend the event which will be held on Tuesday May 9, 2017 from 9:00AM to 3:30PM at the Frenches House Conference Room.
