Not satisfied that no top notch cricket team will be at Arnos Vale

Editor: There would be much discussion on non-hosting of matches at Arnos Vale.

St. Vincent it seems is often taken for granted. When last did we host a match with a top ranked cricket nation? Come to think of it, our last games were against a low ranked team and although we had a packed stadium every night, they played school boy cricket. To this day no apology was made.

You will think in spite of the poor performance of the team and the packed stadium that we would be given the opportunity to see a top ranked team play at Arnos Vale. Unfortunately, that is not so. The reasons given for not having any games here is not acceptable.

I fully understand the reasons the President gave, but are those justifiable. After all Sandals and Holiday Inn are not the only hotels here. There are so [many] good hotels where meals can be available and where families can be accommodated. So, Mr President, we do not buy that.

Is it that we are taken for granted? Is it that CWI do not think much of us, or, is there other reasons which are the President and the board do not want to disclose? We are owing some good games. After all, Vincentians always come out and support West Indies. We deserve better.
