Tribute to our dear Pearlina

Editor: The Chairman, Board of Directors and staff of Solidarity Inc. Express our deepest condolences to the relatives of our dear sister Pearlina Baptiste. She was the Secretary to the Board but meant more than that to the company, playing a key role at not just Board level, but in helping to support and nurture members of staff, particularly the female staff and providing support and guidance.

A sweeter soul one cannot imagine giving practical expression to her deep faith and always a source of positivity. She has had a rich history of contribution and was one of the bedrock pioneers of both early childhood education and adult education in St Vincent and the Grenadines, helping to pave the way for the State institutions which are now in charge of these areas. It was yet another practical demonstration of the critical role that working class women have paid in critical areas of our development. Sister Pearlina was always ready to seek for and implement forward-looking solutions to challenges and was a very kind and cooperative member of our organisation. She will not only be sorely missed but also forever treasured and remembered.
