I am unemployed because I ‘broke the law’ by choosing not to take the jab!

I am unemployed because I ‘broke the law’ by choosing not to take the jab!

EDITOR: I have been a resourceful and productive member of society since leaving school at the age of 18. Though I am not from the generation of the ‘Education Revolution’ I was afforded a good secondary school level education, thanks to the struggles of my parents.

I am proud to say that I never depended on hand outs from institutions, sugar daddies or any government. Instead I chose to honestly earn a living and contribute positively to society.

Over the years, the lending institutions have allowed me to establish credit with them because they saw that I was good for it having solid working track record and though being a single woman and mother. The monthly obligations were met.. granted that there wasn’t much money left over by the middle of the month and it wasn’t that I was living above my means, just having the bare essentials.

Six months on, I find myself unemployed, the bills are mounting and the creditors are calling and threatening! Why?

All because I chose not to take an experimental ‘Russian roulette shot’. I was deemed to have ‘abandoned’ my job and made out as if I broke the law by not submitting to the coercion and scare tactics of spineless so-called leaders and employers. A seemingly irrepealable law was passed which dictates that I have no personal choice in what I subject my body to.. it’s the same choice I made not to smoke, drink alcohol or eat certain foods.

The law makers have failed to see that this law has stunted the economy tremendously. I am no economist, politician or a business owner but even simpletons like me could have seen the negative impact this mandate would have on the economy and hence peoples’ lives and livelihoods. How can an economy like ours be stimulated when there are loss of jobs and people cannot meet their financial obligations to their families and pay their bills, how can people get out of poverty in a society where thousands were already unemployed or under-employed? Adding to the burden of a society where young girls are having to leave home to shack up with abusers, young men who want to get ahead in life by peddling drugs and guns, women who are not afforded family planning counselling, mass migration of desperate intellectual and skilled people.

For many like myself, after working 20 and 30 plus years and suddenly facing unemployment, I know of the frustration and hopelessness It is hard finding dignified jobs because corporations and employers are ‘pressured’ to hire only vaccinated persons, we are being lied to when they tell us that our vaccinated colleagues don’t want us in the classrooms, that the guests only want to be attended to by vaccinated persons, that visitors wouldn’t come to SVG if the population isn’t vaccinated!

In the meantime, the only qualification one needs is the vaccination certificate! Integrity, dedication, honesty and experience are no longer required and valued!

Respect to those who stood up for what they believed in and who didn’t submit to the wicked law and respect to those who got vaccinated because they wanted to, not because they were threatened with being replaced by foreigners, retirees and inexperienced workers.

I’m finally addressing the lending institutions and the service providers; yes, you have been calling because you have noticed that this customer has unusually defaulted on her obligations for several months and she appreciates that you have not terminated the services… yet.

I’m letting you know that I don’t have a job; not because I stole from my employer, not because I am on extended sick leave, or unfit for work, not because I’m lazy and unproductive, but because I ‘broke the law’ by choosing not to take the jab!
