Women need to have respect for themselves

EDITOR: The question is – “Do some women have respect for themselves?”

This question has arisen because of the way many women carry themselves, in terms of the way they dress and the manner in which they conduct themselves.

It is so sad to see the attire of some, where you don’t have to look far to see what underwear they are wearing under the thin and sometimes “see through” dresses. Some are clothed in low-waist pants and low top. No wonder there is so much looseness and STDs. Nowadays, many women are seen drinking and smoking.

Some women leave their young children at home and go partying and what is even more distasteful, is that some are pregnant and have pregnant children living in the same house. No wonder there is so much ill-discipline and teenage pregnancies. When mothers adorn themselves in the aforementioned and conduct themselves in the way mentioned, it aids ill-discipline and and sets a bad example for their children. It is also a sign of low self-esteem.

We need women to be good role models and have respect for themselves. After all, children need guidance and help.

Some women dress as though they are sending a message to men. A message that seems to be saying, “bring your money and come… I am easy access”. How can we expect our girls to dress properly and conduct themselves in a good godly manner?

Women, it is time to have some respect for yourselves. If you don’t have respect for yourselves, how you can expect men to respect you?
