The PM did the right thing

Editor: Please permit me a space in your column to express my views about the new rule in Parliament where parliamentarians do not have to swear to allegiance to the Queen.

Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves has definitely done the right thing and it is the correct step in the right direction for the Government, because for many years, the British basically neglected us and that is one of the solid reasons why our Prime Minister had to seek assistance from other countries{{more}}in order to develop the country the way it is today.

We are in a situation where we do not really have to depend on Britain or the United States for considerable assistance, because we have a totally dedicated Prime Minister, who is always quite brilliant when dealing with other countries for assistance and that is simply wonderful enough to get us through.
