Please stop all the shootings

Editor: Please permit me a space in your column to express my views about the recent shootings that occurred some weeks ago.

I must admit that the recent shootings had everyone really disturbed and must be considered a serious problem in our society today, and basically that is one particular mayhem we must not tolerate, and definitely,{{more}}it really seemed as though these criminals with guns are trying to bring back the old west where cowboys basically used to shoot others at random.

We have a tourism industry that is so beneficial to the economy, but with all these shootings, the industry may eventually end up with some serious problems because some tourists may not want to visit St Vincent and the Grenadines if they really realize that so many shootings are occurring and guns are everywhere.

We really need to impose stiffer fines and much longer jail terms to persons in possession of illegal guns and to those committing serious crimes with them.
