Is this indeed what politics has come to in my country?

Editor: “Death to the Opposition” seems to have taken on new meaning in the wake of the accident near Gordon Yard last week.

There are aspects of Government behaviour that I have some considerable difference with; there are articulations from candidates of the NDP that I might take issue with.{{more}} But as a moral, ethical human being, I would not rejoice in the personal injury or death of any of the political contestants, or their supporters. I may hope one wins and the other loses, but physical pain and injury are not a part of that.

So, what is with the gleeful clamour of ULP supporters at the injury of NDP supporters on the way to a political rally? Is this indeed what politics has come to in my country? Are riots and assassinations next? Agnostic that I am, I can only hope that God helps us all, because we seem incapable, at this stage, of helping ourselves. Lock your door.
