‘Where is the decency in women?’

We know that Carnival is regarded as the premier cultural festival in SVG. However, it is rather shameful the way many girls and ladies are dressed in the public. The exposing of their bodies is not decent and is indeed an appeal to the flesh.{{more}}

We know that many songs promote sexual looseness. Many would say that this is the time for such behaviour, which would afterwards leave this country in many social and economic problems. However, we must bear in mind that many of these females are also dressed in a shameful way outside of Carnival, that is to say on a regular basis.

It is indeed shameful that mothers dress their girls in these short skirts and sometimes short tight pants and very short and thin tops. So, when girls are brought up this way, naturally when they are adults they would continue on this path of dressing. Of course, we know that for Carnival females are dressed in the most lewd way. Thus, it is important that mothers be careful as to their support of Carnival and its activities.

This form of dressing begs the question as to where is the decency in women? Do they take pride in themselves and the way they carry themselves?. On the other hand, it is a way of attracting attention to the males and to sell their bodies.

It is indeed sad that our nation’s females have degraded themselves to such a low state. No wonder there are so many social ills, like HIV/AIDS, rape, and other forms. We need godly women and mothers with standard and morality. We need to have more decency displayed in the workplace and in the homes as a starter. We need to see women take pride in themselves and in their children.

Let us save this nation and let us begin today in exhibiting decency and establishing good moral standards. After all, let us instill in our girls the correct and upright way of dressing. Thank you.
