A clap clap clap and a firm short stare
Were your unique gestures which said loudly “I care”
Your poise, your voice, your memory, well everything about you
Told all of us girls what we were expected to do
The many quiet rebukes and the firm reprimands
Made lots of your girls, outstanding ladies in our land
We are better ladies, mothers, bosses, or just friends
All from the discipline you instilled right to the end
For me it’s wasn’t just five years, t’was a lifetime of love
You’ve fulfilled your earthly purpose, go on my second mom, enjoy peace and eternal life above.
