Sodomy by birth or choice – A biblical response – Part 3

Tue, Dec 11, 2012

Editor: Many nations of the world are seeking to legalize homosexuality, destroying the institution of marriage as defined by God’s Word. If one chooses to become a sodomite, they want their perverted behaviour to be legal, as if that will make it honourable and right in the sight of God.{{more}} In yielding their life to Satan, they have been deceived into believing that being a sodomite “is what God created them to be”, rather than something they chose to become. The Winston Dictionary defines sodomy – unnatural sexual intercourse between males, or of human beings with animals; lesbian – sexual attraction felt by a woman for another woman; unnatural – not like or representing nature; abnormal – without the feelings or sentiments natural to human beings.

Deuteronomy 23 describes how the city of Sodom was destroyed because of the wickedness being openly practised in the land. The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah is an example to future generations of the high cost of living ungodly. Jude 1:7 reads, “Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire”. One will have to conclude that as prevalent as the practice of sodomy and lesbianism have become around the world, multitudes have no fear of God or respect for his Word.

When speaking of the lifestyle of both sodomites and lesbians, it is encompassed in the word “gay.” The Winston Dictionary defines it as follows, gay – full of or inclined to mirth; given to social indulgence; wanton. The word “wanton” perhaps describes the “gay” lifestyle best, in reference to homosexuality. Wanton behaviour has no restraints or discipline; a man or a woman of loose moral habits; therefore, the word “gay” defines homosexuals perfectly, because they are indulging themselves in wanton behaviour, totally ignoring the discipline and restraints set forth in God’s holy Word. In doing so, they have become a reproach to God, along with those who are sympathetic to such wicked behaviour.

There are at least two proofs that God’s institution of marriage, between a man and a woman in the bonds of holy matrimony, is the only true marriage. Number one: God’s Word says it is a man and a woman becoming one in Christ and God cannot lie. Number two the birth of children is proof that marriage, as God ordained it, is the only true marriage. The Bible says in Genesis 4:1: “And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.” Politicians or medical experts may say what they will in an effort to explain and justify same-sex relationships, but no such relationship has or ever will conceive and bear children. Whether they have a test-tube baby, artificial insemination or whatever, it remains the sperm of the man that impregnates a woman. Co-habitation by men or women of the same sex in a sexual manner cannot be attributed to God. They were tempted by their own lusts; that lust enlarged, and it brought forth sin. Sin is like a malignant tumour; left alone, the tumour will enlarge and spread throughout the body. Unrepented sin will cause one to go deeper and deeper into sin and become more and more perverse.
