Negative thoughts are lethal

Fri, May 4. 2012

Editor: It is often said that a man is what he thinks, but it is often taken as just a saying. However, this is absolutely true. Your thoughts actually define who you are. These thoughts can affect your very health.{{more}}

Persons very often hold bad thoughts towards others. However, these thoughts affect the person that is holding them and not the person they are being held against. We sometimes speak about forgiveness, but this forgiveness may be more important to us than the person that we are forgiving. This is because these ill feelings towards others are doing damage to us physically, mentally and spiritually. It is very important that we always try to have clean thoughts.

As a Christian society, we hold too many ill thoughts towards each other. Much of this results from religion and politics. There are also unnecessary family disputes. We are basically a negative country; hence our creative energies are ill-directed. It is time to refocus and try to hold thoughts which are positive. If one can sense the energy of this country, it is obvious that the atmosphere is not positive.

One of the most deadly negative thoughts is when we begin to feel negative about our present situation. Once we persistently feel negative, we begin to lose hope. When hope is lost, there is no limit to the damage that can be done. One of the things that we ought to be cognizant of is the fact that we are all different. We are not all of the same mental strength, therefore we must lend support to each other. We often become selfish once things are going good for us.

Very often, when we examine persons with mental problems, their thoughts are usually negative. They often speak about hate and it is this negative thought that often prevents them from getting better. It must be remembered that thought is energy and we are energy in varying states of vibration. Once we hold negative thoughts, we are contaminating the energy that is inside of us.

It is very difficult to hold positive thoughts, especially when facing challenging times. However, we have to make a deliberate effort to do so. Negative thoughts are too destructive to allow becoming part of us. You must find what makes you think positive, whether it is your bible, some other book or even a friend. It must be remembered that negative thoughts are lethal.
