The failure or success of this nation lies in our hand

Editor: The Bible says that “Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a disgrace to any people”, Proverbs 14:34. Righteousness is living right before God, and sin is doing things that are wrong.{{more}} So, can we truthfully say that as a nation we are living right? Rather, it is a fact that the opposite is true, in that we are living sinful lives. Thus, how this nation or any nation for that matter can be lifted up or progress when we are not living right?

I am sure that you will agree with me if you are honest that as a people we have been living sinful lives, for there are too many ungodly practices. We no longer know how to resolve issues. Instead, we resort to violence as a solution. Sexual crimes have increased, and so have incest and other forms of wrong doing, such as gays, unfaithfulness in a relationship. There is also a widespread disrespect and disregard for others, including disobedience and slanders.

Every form of sin is practiced in this blessed land of ours. Then tell me how we can expect God to bless us? For this nation to move on successfully, it does not depend only on the politicians but with us as a people.

If we fail to turn away from our unrighteous ways, then we would become a reproach, where as if as a people, we live right before God, then HE remains faithful and will exalt this nation. We will progress successfully.

However, God is merciful, thus I call upon this nation from head to tail, that is from the Governor General, Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition right down to repent and live right before God, and if we do so, then we would experience a blessing from God such as we have never known.

Ladies and gentlemen, the failure or success of this nation lies in our hand. So let us charter the right course for ourselves and that of our children by living right before God. May we be desirous of living right before God. God bless us all.
