No amount of political war can heal this nation

Editor: 2 Chronicles 7:14, says, “If my people that are called by my name shall humble themselves and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land.” This nation needs a healing.{{more}}

If we are honest enough, we would all agree that this nation needs a healing, for indeed this nation is sick. The many events taking place here in SVG suggest that we are sick, such as the sad stories of child molestation by both males and females by adults, including teachers. The rise in crimes and the political tribalism which results in protest are indeed telling us that this nation is sick.

We as a nation have lost our way. We have turned away from God. The rise in INCEST, rape, child molestation, homosexuals and even political wars are indicators that we have lost our way. The solution to these is not found in the politicians, but from God.

We as a Christian nation ought to first of all turn away from all our hatred, malice, envy and the various wicked things that we are doing. No amount of political war can heal this nation. No amount of demonstration can make this nation better. The success or failure of this nation lies in our hands. If we turned to God from our wicked ways, God will forgive us and heal our nation and so we will have success.

We change governments after governments, unless we turn to God from our wicked ways we would not make progress. Therefore, what we need is not demonstrations and political tribalism. Instead, what we need is to get down on our knees and cry to Him to save us. Let us as Christians stop, and nation alike stop this political war, for it is only hurting us. Instead, let us pray honestly for peace and the salvation of our politicians and citizens alike. For if as a people we make the Lord Jesus Christ our personal friend, I am certain that we would have a better nation.

It is time, ladies and gentlemen, that we realize that God rules in the affairs of men and He will do what he sees best in His own time, and thus we need as a people to pray more for our children, friends and ourselves. Only Christ can save this nation, only HE can heal our land, for indeed it is sick. Let us turn to God, let us seek His face and let Him heal this blessed nation. For indeed our nation is sick.
