We need to fear God, desire his divine plans for our lives

EDITOR: From the beginning, God’s plan is that man is to be leader of the woman and his household . Ephesians 5:23 states, for the husband is head of the wife as also Christ is head of the Church.{{more}}

God’s divine plan is that the man (husband), his wife and children would make up the family which is the basic building block of society. Satan, on the other hand, has a plan, too. His plan involves destroying the family by “taking out” the man (leader) first. Satan’s plans are very devisive and strategic. When the leader (the male figure) is conquered it makes his job easier in carrying out his onslaught on the rest of the family.

The Bible states that Satan came to steal, to kill and to destroy. We see his plans of destruction being put into effect when the king of Egypt planned to destroy all the males born to the Hebrew women.

Pharaoh commanded all his people saying, every son who is born you shall cast into the river, and every daughter you shall save alive.

As it was then, so it is today. The devil’s agenda has not changed. He just mixes and matches his devices, plans and strategies to carry out his depression to strike our male counterparts with madness, drug addiction, crime and violence leading to high figures of our males being incarcerated in prisons and eventual separation from their families. It is no small wonder that many of our males are underachievers from the primary right up to the tertiary level of education.This leads to low self esteem, which in turn leads to many ending up being affiliated with gangs. Still we have growing numbers of our males in the hills cultivating marijuana and plying their drug trade. Still others sit idly on the blocks while others are in the rum shops. These are some of the places where our fathers, our sons, uncles and cousins end up.

Very small percentages are found in our homes and the churches to take up their rightful positions. Males were born to lead and strong leaders make strong families which in turn lead to strong societies.

Due to our human sinful nature and disobedience to God’s plans the enemy is gaining a stronghold on our male counterparts, and indeed on our nation as a whole.

We need as individuals, as a people and a nation, to fear God and desire his divine plans for our lives. Recognizing and seeking God for it is His will to restore the families.

In our next issue we’ll take an in-depth focus on issues relating to our males and the family.
