A response to Lancelot Farrell
10.JULY.09
Editor: I will be grateful if you can publish the following in response to an article which appeared in your edition of Friday, 03 July, 2009, of the SEARCHLIGHT, written by one Lancelot Farrell and entitled: WHERE WILL NDP FIND THIS MONEY IN THESE TIMES?{{more}}
I do not know Mr. Farrell, but the tenor of the article suggests that Mr. Farrell is someone likely to be writing under a franchise; that is a pseudonym. In his article, Mr. Farrell besmirched my name when he said: âIn the interest of time, Matthew Thomas and Junior Bacchus will have to spend another five years talking about the Prime Minister. I wonder what they would tell the Lord about what they have done with their lives of hatred, malice, bring-down mentality and wickedness.â
I am not as fortunate as the Prime Minister to have the Police or the Director of Public Prosecution bring criminal charges against him; neither will I be so foolish to file for a civil law suit. Since, however, he is so concerned about my discourse with the Lord when the day of reckoning comes, I feel that in the light of fair play and justice you should publish my promised prayer, unadulterated, so that his mind can be at ease. My prayer will read thus:
I thank thee Lord that I am not in High Office. Lord, I thank thee that I am not numbered among those who rape, those whose transgressions stink to the high Heavens. I thank thee Lord that I have not conjoined with others known or unknown to steal and defraud innocent US citizens of over sixty eight million US dollars; and most of all Lord, I thank thee that I am not Mr. Lancelot Farrell whose task it is to go down in sackcloth and ashes to mourn for them.
