Ralph is the change!

EDITOR: The Prime Minister is fond of saying: “I am the Change; the ULP represents the Change”. And he is quite right in the context of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The Comrade is indeed the change. No reasonable and unbiased person can dispute this.{{more}} Ralph and his government have changed and are changing things for the better, much better, for the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The evidence to support this view is overwhelming, including:

1. The Education Revolution;

2. The Housing Revolution;

3. The Health and Wellness Revolution;

4. The Infrastructure Revolution (including the Fancy to Kingstown Road Building/…..Building; the Cross-Country Road; the Arnos Vale Sports Facility; the Canouan Jet Airport; and the International Airport);

5. Enhanced Good Governance, Freedom, and Democracy;

6. Cultural Progress and Historical Reclamation;

7. Great progress in the field of Sports;

8. Improved delivery of Law and Order Services including the Law Courts, the Police, and Prisons.

9. Enhanced care for the Elderly;

10. Massive improvements in the economy, including increased employment, reduced poverty,

11. Vast improvement in the delivery of electricity, water, and telecommunications services; and

12. Creative and beneficial leadership in regional matters and foreign policy.

These achievements, and more, are truly impressive, especially for a small country with limited material resources in an increasingly hostile globalised world. Let us give thanks for the good we have accomplished and not complain too much about an absence of perfection. We will not enjoy perfection until we get to the other side of Eternity.

It is true that there has been an increase in the number of murders committed, although so far the numbers for 2008 are less than those for 2007 for the comparable period. The murders are caused by greed, wickedness, an absence of personal restraint, and a “follow-fashion” from TV images. This has absolutely nothing to do with the Government; it has to do with the evil in men and women.

The opposition NDP cannot talk change; they are more backward than ever. And the handful who scream “change” simply mean change from the ULP because of their personal vanities and quest for power. None of them understand nor are able to effect real change for the better like the Comrade and the ULP. That’s a fact and the people know it.
