Don’t be led astray by talk show hosts

Editor: Before I get into what I have to say, let me express my sincerest thanks to the Government and the company which freely repaired the roads from Layou to Gibson Corner. This is indeed much relief to the vehicles that drive on these roads. Once again thank you all.

There is much political debate going on these days, one would think that election is very near. While we are free to choose a party of our choice, we must recognize that Governments are set up by God and they are also brought down by God. Therefore whichever party governs this Country has been appointed by God and will continue to be in power until the Lord in His wisdom removes such.{{more}}

We should also recognize that no Government can solve all the problems of any nation. As long as we have Governments there would always be problems and crimes, since man is not perfect and we are also living in the last days. Even if we change governments every five or so years, there would always be poverty, drugs, crimes and social problems. Thus the parties with all of their promises can never solve this world’s problem.

Our real problem in this Country is that we need Jesus and see HIM as the only problem solver. It is sad that Christians find themselves taken up with so much political bias, be it ULP or NDP that we forget to pray for each other and those in authority. The Word of God tells us to pray for those in authority. We are therefore urging to pray for our Government as well as our Opposition.

If we truly as Vincentians surrender our life to Christ then we would have a better Country. The Lord gives us a ruler or government that we deserve. If we get a dictator it is because we deserve so. If we get a good government it is because we deserve it likewise.

I therefore urge us to get down on our knees and pray for the Country and do less talking and bashing of politicians on Radio. It is so sad, that so many are caught up listening to no other stations, except Nice Radio or WE FM. It is time we give unto God what is HIS and unto Caesar that which is his.

Let us return to God and we would have a prosperous and peaceful nation. It is not the governments that have the answers, but Jesus Christ. Let us respect each other’s views and positions and live with each other peacefully.

It is time we give God more of our time and talents.
