AIA starts process towards certification
Fixing the issues at St Vincent and the Grenadines’ (SVG), various airports is high on the agenda of the current administration and one thing that is being looked at is gaining certification for the Argyle International Airport (AIA).
Having a certified airport means the facility meets official safety, design, and operational rules set by a national or international aviation authority. It proves the airport can safely handle commercial passenger flights, manage emergencies, and maintain proper runway and ground infrastructure.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), at the AIA Josette Greaves, says the AIA has started the certification process.
“We are in the process of developing the documents that we need to put the procedures in place. Certification has a lot to do with aerodrome safety and aviation safety, so we’re just putting everything in place.
