Cultural Ambassador blasts service of Inter-Caribbean
VINCENTIAN FILM MAKER and Cultural Ambassador Akley Olton, has given InterCaribbean Airways poor marks for their service and vows that he would not be travelling with the airline again.
“Whole day ah travelling, whole day ah stranded. InterCaribbean. Need to do better.Watch people, watch people; they stranded whole day. I, Akley Olton, will not be travelling on InterCaribbean again. Ever,” Olton said in a video post. He was sharing about his experience with the Cayman Islands-based carrier at the Grantley Adams International Airport on July 25, 2026.
He claimed that for speaking up for himself as a result of several flight cancellations without any sort of update, he was “threatened with detention; doors were closed on me”.
Commenting further Olton said: “When you are stranded at a gate all day with zero updates, face arbitrary cancellations, and are then threatened with detention and denied boarding simply for documenting public accountability, the mask slips entirely”, Olton claimed, adding that InterCaribbean needs to do better. “They closed the gate door demanding I delete a video of the chaos, using security and boarding access as leverage to silence accountability.”
