VincyMas 2026 heats up with several shows this weekend
VincyMas 2026, ‘The Great Escape’ intensifies this weekend with numerous events hosted by the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC), as the culmination on Tuesday, July 7, approaches.
Following the July 2, 2026 Steel and Glitter show,that featured Sections from the Mas bands, and the Senior Panorama competition at Independence Park, the action continues tonight, July 3, as the event moves from the Park to the Cruise Ship Terminal for a night filled with “premium vibes, top-tier performances, and unforgettable energy” in EVO: “Night in the Clouds”.
In an online post on the VincyMas page, organisers apologised that the Antigua and Barbuda outfit, Burning Flames will not be performing as “one of the members had a medical emergency which rendered him to be hospitalised, and we have been advised that he cannot travel for the next week”.
Then tomorrow, Saturday, July 4, it’s the ‘Big Bad Soca Monarch’ show in which 14 artistes will come up against 14 times winner and reigning Monarch, Delroy Fireman Hooper.
The Soca contenders are: Claydon ‘Dymez’ Roache & Elrico Da Pixel’ Hunte; LeeJace ‘King Jace’ Bullock; Giovanni ‘G.E.O’ Collins; and Utamu ‘Bongo Prime’ Rose, are all in both the Soca and Ragga categories, along with Lornette ‘Fya Empress’ Nedd; Shannan ‘Kelly J’John; Kevon ‘Sick-O’ Shallow; Enrique ‘Double R’ Marshall & Shorn ‘Shornbeats’ Nimblet (one half who is also in the Ragga finals); Derron “Magikal’ Rouse; Garret ‘Icon’ John; Jasper ‘Jasper Ymc’ Alexander; and Taquilla ‘Tequila’ Thomas-Latchman.
