Theft of rum lands elderly man in jail
A 70-year-old man of Kingstown Park/Sion Hill received a short jail sentence over his theft of two 200 ml bottles of Strong Rum. The police said in a release that Trevor Peacock was arrested and charged on June 30, 2026 with the offence of theft.
In a release, the police said their investigations revealed that the rum, valued at EC$27.12, was stolen from a supermarket in Kingstown.
Peacock appeared in the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on July 1, 2026, where he pleaded guilty to the charge. He was sentenced to two weeks at His Majesty’s Prison.
