‘Hero’ leads Starlift, Bishop’s to Junior Pan victory
Arranger, Kingsley ‘Hero’ Roberts, has led Starlift Juniors, and Bishop’s College, Kingstown steel orchestras to victory in the Junior Panorama Competition for another year, scoring 268 and 215 points respectively.
By now, victory is a familiar experience for the music mogul, whose community band, Starlift Steel Orchestra with their rendition of ‘Dance with me again’ by Winston Soso; and school based band, Bishop’s College, Kingstown, with their rendition of ‘Bialah Sanka’ by X-A-Dus emerged as winners.
The official results were released on July 1, 2026, following the competition at Independence Park on Sunday, June 28, 2026. In the School Based category, St. Mary’s Roman Catholic (RC) School secured second place with 208 points performing Becket’s ‘I want Soca’, while the C.W Prescott Primary took third place with 192 points playing ‘Mind Yo Pickny’ by Touch.
In the Community division, Symphonix Steel Orchestra captured second place with 254 points playing Asterix’s ‘Disco Ivy’, and Elite Steel Orchestra locked down third place with 188 points for their performance of ‘Ah love me wife’ by Touch.
