Chateaubelair Fisheries Centre gets $3.8 million upgrade
RENOVATION WORK IS now underway at the Chateaubelair Fisheries Centre as efforts are being made to restore and upgrade the facility after years of abandonment.Work on the project began on Monday, June 8, 2026, with contractors moving on site to commence renovations to the building, which was constructed more than 25 years ago.
According to information provided by the contractors, the project is being funded by the World Bank and will involve extensive repairs and upgrades to both the building and its surrounding infrastructure. The scope of work includes repairs and improvements to the centre’s surroundings, the replacement and upgrading of the roofing, and renovations to the interior of the main building, as well as the section above the main building roof.
