Woman says Green Hill Programme employees still awaiting payment
AN EMPLOYEE attached to the Green Hill Mobilisation Programme is raising concerns after reportedly going without pay since April, 2026, despite repeated assurances that payment would be made.
The worker, who spoke to SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, and asked that her name be withheld said employees have been receiving weekly promises that their outstanding wages would be paid.
The workers are engaged in the planting and reaping of crops, but the worker did not indicate where the produce is being used. However she said the promises made have not materialised, leaving them frustrated and increasingly concerned about their financial situation. According to the employee, the uncertainty has already affected the workforce, with some individuals deciding to stop reporting for work because of the prolonged delay in receiving their wages.
