Public Servants in SVG urged to be consummate professionals
DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER, and Minister of National Security, Disaster Management, and Immigration St Clair Leacock, was “highly impressed” when he witnessed how regional public servants conducted and discharged their duties as consummate professionals, and has urged Vincentian public service members to do the same.
Speaking at the public service church service on June 16, 2026 at the New Testament Church of God,Wilson Hill, Leacock recounted when he was the first member of his family to attend secondary school and become a public servant.
“I also enjoyed the privilege, that the public service came to the school and asked where do you want to work, and I said at the Customs, and at the Customs it was,” he told those gathered for the church service that marked the start of extended activities to observe Public Service Day on June 23.
He said that while in earlier years the public service sent workers to the department of their choice, times have changed.
