Vincy Uber owner developing tracking system for public transport
Developer and owner of Vincy Uber, Steve Tyril, has plans for a new tracking and ticketing system aimed at transforming the public transportation experience in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). In an interview with SEARCHLIGHT on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, Tyril outlined how the system will function and the problems it is designed to solve. He explained that the system would allow passengers to purchase tickets through authorized agents before boarding a bus.
“The way the system works, you could go to an agent and ask for a ticket…and then print the ticket to use.”
He said these agents could include workers from locations of the telecommunications companies. Tyril also noted that passengers would be able to purchase points from agents, which could then be used for shorter trips or “short drops”.
Speaking about the motivation behind this proposed project, Tyril said the idea came from a need to address ongoing challenges within the transportation sector. He said “it’s all about solving problems”.
