Assistant Commissioners of Police reassigned, not demoted – Leacock
WHILE MINISTER of National Security, St Claire Leacock highlighted some promotions among the top ranks of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) on Wednesday, May 13,2026, he also explained the reassignment of two current Assistant Commissioners of Police.
Answering the unasked question he said many may be asking, what becomes of the current Assistant Commissioners of Police, Benzil Samuel and Hesran Ballantyne, the Minister of National Security pointed out that, “they are not demoted”, as he spoke on the NBC Radio on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
“They are going to be reassigned duties which, to our mind, is very important, that is, the school security is a matter of concern for us at the moment.”
Minister Leacock said currently, a number of the schools have security, while some do not, so that’s where the two assistant commissioners of police would be assigned.
