New man at the helm as Coordinator of Sports and Physical Activities
A new co-ordinator of sports and physical activities has been appointed in St Vincent and the Grenadines under the remit of the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture and Creative Industries.
The sports department of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) therefore loses its sports co-ordinator and lecturer in Applied Sports, Roxell John, who has taken up this assignment as of Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
His new role as the coordinator of sports and physical activities requires him to manage and supervise daily activities of the division.
He will assist the permanent secretary with the preparation of sports policies, strategies, budgets, and other related documents.
John is also expected to coordinate the implementation of a national sports against crime programme; provide technical assistance to the national school sports programme; and liaise with sporting organisations and professional bodies to maintain a standardised national sports calendar.
John, who was trained in Cuba and is fluent in English and Spanish expressed being committed to advancing sports education, youth development, and the overall growth of sport in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
