Government to soon unveil ‘Love SVG’ initiative
Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, and Sustainable Development, Kishore Shallow, announced that a new initiative titled “Love SVG” will soon be implemented. Addressing participants at the National Tourism Youth Congress on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at the NIS Conference Room, the Minister of Tourism said the initiative, which is expected to be officially launched in the second week of May, was in its conceptual phase, as the ministry intended to incorporate ideas and recommendations generated by youth participants during the congress.
In his address, Minister Shallow emphasized the importance of youth involvement in shaping the direction of the initiative, expressing confidence in the contributions being made.
“I am quite optimistic that coming out of this session this morning, we are going to get some of those ideas from you to plug into ‘Love SVG’, he said. He noted that the project underscored the government’s commitment to fostering inclusive participation in tourism development, particularly by engaging the younger generation.
Turning his attention to the broader outlook for the tourism sector in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Minister Shallow painted a highly positive picture. He described the tourism sector as “extremely bright, extremely encouraging” and further noted, “where we are now, I can tell you that the rest of the Caribbean envy St Vincent and the Grenadines at this point’’.
