Arrest made in connection with murder of Vincentian in St Kitts
A MAN was formally charged on April 29,2026 in connection with the death of Vincentian Shamarie Baptiste, who was shot and killed at the Royal Kingdom Snackette in St Kitts on April 20, 2026.
Ketwan Hamilton of Lime Kiln Project, St. Kitts, has been charged with Baptiste’s murder, as well as possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and discharging a loaded firearm in a public place.
Reports out of St Kitts and Nevis are that the 22-year-old Baptiste, who just four days earlier represented his team SKELEC Garden Hotspurs on the football field, was at the Royal Kingdom Bar in Lime Kiln, St. Kitts, between 1:00 a.m and 2:00 a.m awaiting his food order when he was “approached by an armed assailant” who reportedly opened fire, striking him in the neck.
The former Greiggs resident, who played for Greiggs FC, has been living in St Kitts since February 2024, along with his mother and sister. He died at the scene of the shooting.
According to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), the investigation into the matter is still ongoing.
Hamilton is one of five suspects who have recently been arrested and are currently in police custody in connection with homicide investigations in St Kitts and Nevis.
