Intermediate High reopens Literacy Lab during Centennial Celebrations
The Intermediate High School (IHS) as part of its centennial celebrations, officially reopened its Literacy Lab under the theme: ‘Transforming Lives Through Literacy’ on April 15, 2026.
The reopening highlighted the school’s renewed commitment to strengthening literacy development and ensuring that every student is equipped with the skills necessary for academic success and lifelong achievement, a school release states.
In her opening remarks, the head of the Modern Languages and Arts Department, Dr. Shara Ollivierre-Stewart, emphasized that “literacy is more than the ability to read and write; it is the foundation upon which dreams are built, confidence is developed and opportunities are created.”
The reopening of the lab, therefore, represents more than just a physical upgrade; it symbolises the creation of a space where students can “grow, explore and discover the power of words.”
