Man who had clean record jailed for possession of illegal gun, ammo
DESPITE BEING COMMENDED for not getting in conflict with the law for over four decades, a Campden Park man was reminded that his actions have consequences when he was sentenced to prison for two years and 10 months for illegal gun possession.
Nicholas Charles appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate Colin John yesterday, April 23, 2026 where he pleaded guilty that he had in his possession 10 rounds of 9 mm ammunition without a license issued under the Firearms Act.
Charles was also charged that he had in his possession one Taurus G3C 9mm Lugar semi-automatic pistol without a license issued under the Firearm Act.
The offences were committed on January 24, 2026 at Campden Park.
The facts are that on the date in question at about 4:30 a.m Cpl 369 Davy was among a Party of Rapid Response Unit (RRU) personnel headed by Sgt 192 Caesar who went to execute a search warrant at the home and premises of Nicholas Charles in Campden Park.
