Government adopting multi-pronged approach to fight Praedial Larcency
THE New Democratic Party (NDP) administration, intends to use a multi-pronged approach to fight praedial larcency, a major problem that is plaguing persons engaged in the agriculture sector.
Minister of Agriculture Israel Bruce, said this includes applying modern technology, and increasing penalties to tackle the scourge.
His comments came during a visit to the CARDI Field Station at Orange Hill, where that entity is engaged in experimenting with climate smart practices using tomatoes and sweet peppers. Minister Bruce said much like the impacts of climate change, theft of produce and animals threatens this country’s food security and noted that he has had conversations with Taiwan’s Ambassador to SVG, on how they can partner in the fight against praedial larceny.
