Bread van helped avert tragic accident at Gordon Yard
A ‘BREAD VAN’ is said to have averted a potentially fatal accident that occurred on Monday, April 20, 2026, in GordonYard, North Leeward that also involved a passenger van. Persons said the bread van happened to collided with the passenger bus, righting it, and preventing its plunge over a steep cliff.
The white passenger van was travelling towards Chateaubelair, and the driver said he experienced brake failure as the vehicle approached a corner along the route.
Passenger, Neldan Layne recounted the frightening moments leading up to the collision to SEARCHLIGHT.
Layne said he had been asleep prior to the impact and was awakened as the situation unfolded.
“The van was already on two wheels, but the bread van was coming around the corner at the same time so it stopped the van from going over the bank and hit it back on the four wheels, then the van flipped over.”
