Ginger thief receives three-part sentence
A REDEMPTION SHARPES MAN was jailed, given a suspended sentence and was ordered to pay compensation for stealing $800 worth of ginger.
Glenroy Holder appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate Tammika Mckenzie, on January 27, 2026 where he pleaded guilty that between April 10 and 15, 2025 he stole a sack of matured ginger valued at $800, the property of Lily Lewis of Redemption Sharpes.
The facts are that Lewis has been a farmer for almost all her life. She usually plants eddoes, cabbage, and ginger, and owned a sack of matured ginger valued at EC$800.00.
