Confessed grocery thief urged to invest in herself
AN UNEMPLOYED Redemption Sharpes woman, who relies on her daughter’s father to solely provide for their family, was bonded and ordered to compensate Coreas for stealing $58 worth of groceries.
Vanda Soleyn, 42, appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate Tammika Mckenzie, on Friday, January 13,2026 where she pleaded guilty that on January 10, 2026 in Kingstown, she stole a 1kg pack of flour valued EC$4.15; one vegetarian cheddar cheese valued EC$11.69; two bags of spinach valued EC$6.26; and two packs of Forest Turkey valued EC$34.48- a total value EC$56.58, the property of Coreas Food Mart, Kingstown.
The virtual complainant is employed as a security officer at Coreas Food Mart in Kingstown, and is responsible for guarding the store and preventing theft.
