Sir Calvert Jones recognized by the OAS

A PRESENTATION BY Vincentian artist, Sir Calvert Jones at the 10th Inter-American Meeting of Ministers of Culture and Highest Appropriate Authorities puts a positive spotlight on St Vincent and the Grenadines’ (SVG).

Sir Calvert, who was recently granted the Knights Of Malta (KM) title, was invited by the Organization of American States (OAS) to present at the meeting which was held virtually on November 13 and 14, 2025, and resulted in the adoption of the Declaration and Plan of Action of Washington, D.C., a landmark framework to strengthen cooperation in culture and the creative economy across the Americas.

“To be from a small island and make such an impact is a good sign for St Vincent and the Grenadines because we are from a place where our people think we can’t make these types of impacts,” Sir Calvert said in an interview on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
