Louise Mitchell says the mainland is ready for change

Louise Mitchell, daughter of former Prime Minister, Sir James Mitchell, is confident that mainland St Vincent is ready for political change. Making remarks prior to her introduction of New Democratic Party leader, Dr. Godwin Friday at a meeting of the NDP in Port Elizabeth, Bequia last Sunday, October, 19,2025, Mitchell said she has been throughout the “length and breadth” of the country and has sensed a mood for a change in government.

She reflected on meetings held on that very spot by her late father, Sir James Mitchell, and noted that he would usually begin political meetings with the hymn, ‘O God our help in ages past’.

“ I know that he is looking down and smiling tonight because not only am I standing here on the platform to stand beside a man of integrity, but also, I have my sisters in Bequia tonight…”, Mitchell said as she named her three siblings.
