Saudi Fund to finance Old Montrose Police Station upgrade

MONEY FROM THE SAUDI FUND will be used to upgrade the Old Montrose Police Station, as the USA has backed out of an original plan to fund the project.

Repair work is expected to begin later this year, but before this, the training school and other support services have to be relocated.

This was disclosed by Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves on Monday,April 28, 2025 as he answered a question in Parliament about the police station, from opposition Member of Parliament for Central Kingstown, St Clair Leacock.

A building in Belair is being prepared to house the training school and other services which are now at the Old Montrose Police Station.

The SSU will be relocated to the HIV Secretariat building and repairs are expected to begin by the end of July this year.
